Hey y’all!
I’m Shannon—though most call me “Shanny.” Owning an insurance agency has been a long-time goal of mine that I am so proud to have achieved! Paradise Point Insurance allows me to combine my 18+ years of industry expertise with my passion for helping others. I believe in authenticity, and humor is my go-to, so don’t be surprised if I call you “shug” every now and then—my Southern roots run deep!
Born and raised in the Cape Fear region, I have a deep understanding of the unique coastal factors that impact our community, and I’m dedicated to helping you make informed decisions that protect what matters most.
Outside of my career, I take pride in my Southern heritage, with a background in pageantry and the performing arts, including holding the title of Teen Miss New Hanover County & Jr Miss Cape Fear Country and continuing my support by judging Spot & Shrimp festival pageants as well as the Mr. & Miss Dixon Pageant at Dixon High School.
Growing up with a father on our family NASCAR pit crew for the Ellington #1; I also spent countless hours in the pits and getting greasy in the garage.
I understand what it takes to work hard and am not afraid to get my hands dirty! While I’ve embraced everything from dancing to getting hands-on in the NASCAR pits, my true joy comes from connecting with people and giving back. These days, you’ll find me coaching and mentoring in pageantry or embracing new challenges in the fitness world.
At heart, I’m all about community. Raised by the ocean thanks to my amazing mother, I’ve always been drawn to its serenity. I love supporting local businesses, soaking up live music, and enjoying time with family and friends near the water—they are my biggest inspiration in life. Most importantly, being a mom to my son, William, is my greatest accomplishment. With him now forging his own path, I’m returning to the things I love—dance, music, and mentoring.
If I leave you with anything, it’s this: “The only person you should strive to be better than is your past self. Keep learning with love, and always leave a little sparkle behind.”
